“Do You Have BBL?” And Other Questions We Hear All the Time
If you’ve spent any time researching aesthetic treatments online, chances are you’ve come across names like BBL, Moxi, Morpheus8, and other popular devices.
So, naturally, you may come into Revived asking for one by name.
And we love that you’ve done your research.
But here’s something we wish more clients knew: the name you’ve heard on social media is often a brand name—not necessarily the treatment itself.
Think Botox vs. neurotoxin. Botox is one brand within an entire category of medications. Energy-based treatments work similarly: different manufacturers may create devices designed to address many of the same concerns using similar categories of technology.
At Revived, our job isn’t to give you the device with the most recognizable name. It’s to understand your skin, determine what we’re trying to accomplish, and choose the technology and treatment parameters that make sense for you.
“Do you have BBL?”
We have IPL (Intense Pulsed Light).
BBL®, or BroadBand Light, is Sciton’s proprietary light-based technology and belongs to the broader family of intense pulsed light treatments.
Both technologies can be used to address concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, redness, visible vessels, and overall photodamage.
Rather than choosing treatment based solely on the name, we assess your skin type, the chromophore we’re targeting, your specific concern, and whether light-based treatment is appropriate for you.
“Do you have Moxi?”
We offer Rohrer Revive rather than Moxi®.
These are not identical devices—and we don’t pretend that they are. But they’re technologies used within the broader world of fractional skin resurfacing and rejuvenation.
If you’re asking for Moxi because you want to improve tone, texture, pigmentation, or overall skin quality, tell us what you want to change rather than worrying about which device name to request.
We can determine which treatment in our toolbox makes the most sense.
“Do you have Morpheus8?”
We use EndyMed for radiofrequency microneedling.
Morpheus8® is one well-known RF microneedling platform, but RF microneedling itself is a treatment category—not a single device.
These treatments combine controlled microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered into the tissue. Different platforms vary in needle configuration, energy delivery, depth capabilities, and treatment parameters.
What matters enormously? Who is choosing those parameters and why.
“What kind of CO₂ laser do you have?”
We offer CoolPeel® CO₂ resurfacing.
CO₂ lasers are another great example of why simply comparing device names doesn’t tell the whole story. Different CO₂ platforms and treatment settings can create dramatically different treatments—from lighter resurfacing with relatively little downtime to significantly more aggressive resurfacing.
The question isn’t simply, “Which CO₂ laser do you have?”
It’s:
What are we treating? How aggressively should we treat it? And what treatment gives you the best balance of results, safety, and downtime?
So…does the device matter?
Absolutely. But the person operating it matters, too.
We invest heavily in education because owning a device and understanding how to use it are two very different things.
Energy-based treatments require an understanding of skin anatomy, tissue response, wavelengths, chromophores, energy delivery, treatment depth, appropriate endpoints, contraindications, and—most importantly—how all of those variables change from one client to another.
A recognizable brand name doesn’t replace clinical judgment.
And more energy isn’t necessarily better.
More passes aren’t necessarily better.
The newest device isn’t automatically better.
The right technology, with the right settings, for the right patient is better.
Not sure what to book?
You don’t need to diagnose your own skin or become a laser expert before walking through our doors.
In fact, we’d rather you didn’t.
Tell us what bothers you.
Tell us what you’ve tried.
Tell us how much downtime you’re comfortable with and what you’d ultimately like your skin to look like.
We’ll figure out the technology.
Because at Revived, we don’t build treatment plans around what’s trending.
We build them around you.has context menu
